Sam writes: All my faith lost... is a beautiful Italian band I discovered on Sweden’s Cold Meat Industry label. The music they create reminds me a lot of Black tape for a blue girl, Stoa, Black Rose, Anchorage, etc.... Those amazingly lovely vocals floating above the sparse piano, guitar, strings... They’re a wonderful Heavenly Voices / ethereal act. I was very excited when Roger at CMI told me All my faith lost.... had a new album in the works, which he thought might work well on Projekt. We have co-released The Hours, CMI for the world and Projekt for North America.

Definitely lovely music for the pained romantic in each of us.

Romantic, melancholic, seductive. Acoustic, ethereal, lush. Sensual, beautiful and stirring. All are good words to describe The Hours passionate search through the soul. The Italian due of Viola and Federico create graceful and elegant music for fans of Heavenly Voices, Ethereal & Dark Folk soundscapes. All My Faith Lost's second album quickly follows their 2005 debut on Cold Meat Industry. The album is slow and tranquil, featuring male and female vocals which serve as instruments contributing to the soundscape of acoustic guitar, flute, piano, violin, and cello. All My Faith Lost... unlock a beautifully tender and delicate world, a view into the soul of delicate seduction.

"Federico and Viola, who are both responsible for the lyrical content, also share the lead vocal duties. The vocals are used like instruments, in that they are whispered and subdued, so that the narrative becomes secondary to the texture and tone. The synths are used to fill out the overall sound, but the acoustic guitar, flute, piano, violin, and viola are the true driving forces. This CD is for times of solitude and quiet introspection that will take you far away from the madding crowd." VIRUS MAGAZINE

A review from Dark Realms:
With The Hours, All My Faith Lost offers a serene dose of musical escapism that soothes the senses. Much of the music on the album drifts along like a midsummer daydream, allowing listeners to lose themselves in a realm of tranquil revery. Romantic acoustic guitar arpeggios dance beneath delicate female vocals on ³The Waves,² while a solemn piano melody creates a heartfelt and haunting mood on ³Presagio Triste² and ³Luminal.² Cello and guitar blend together to conjure a relaxing and meditative state on ³Ocean Sea² and ³Amado Mio.² For those who appreciate timeless music that can divert your mind from the mundane matters of everyday life, The Hours is a blissful remedy. -Joseph Iorillo

A review from Gothic Beauty:
This second album from All My Faith Lost is an intimate, warm and glowing thing, like a carefully shielded candle flaring in a dark room. All is gentle and melancholy, braided in ribbons of synths and strings, with softly echo-treated voices. A single plucked guitar stands out upon a sea of orchestral sound; a piano advances hesitantly while Viola leads it on with sweetly sad vocals. "House of Incest," nominally inspired by the Anais Nin story, presents a higher, loftier sound, with an ascending drone and airy voices; "Absence" is enclosed, filling up from corner to corner and gazing out from within, featuring violins and flute. "An Early Light" whispers like a confidence, falling open into a softer space like a lullaby; "Ivory" recalls the cavernous sounds once created by Lycia, with quivering bass and a sibilant voice. Fragile and ephemeral, yet burning and vital, this album fills a void and gives comfort. - Carolee

A review from Liar Society:
You have to wonder where Projekt finds them. You would expect that the well would eventually run dry, but every year they've got a new band to introduce you to, some new sound that you'd be poorer for not having heard. Comprised mainly of Viola Roccalgi and Federico Salvador, All My Faith Lost forge a sparse, somber sound from flute, piano, guitar, delicate male and female vocals, and the occasional violin and cello. The Hours is comparable to the work of their labelmates Black Tape for a Blue Girl and Unto Ashes; All My Faith Lost work in a similarly existential ethereal fashion as Black Tape, but the overall atmosphere of their music resonates with the bleakness of spirit that Unto Ashes is known for. To be sure, there are very few bright spots on The Hours, but when a black mood strikes you could do far worse than this. Rating: 4 out of 5 -Jack

A review from Pine Bluff Commercial:
“The Hours” is 11 tracks of tranquility that at times — as the title implies — seem to go on for hours. The first half of the album sets a relaxed, almost somber tone that comes dangerously close to being too effective, making it slightly difficult to endure at times.

Just when it reaches the point where you might be tempted to press the pause button and take a break, the album picks up in mood, tempo and complexity, making it just interesting enough to stick with it. Slowly riding that wave for a few tracks, “The Hours” then lulls back to the melancholic place in which it began.

All My Faith Lost... switches male and female vocals often, but rarely do the vocals especially stand out over the synth, acoustic guitar, piano and violin parts that are layered with varying intensities throughout the album. The softness of the vocals and their typically low position on the hierarchy of musical elements essentially makes “The Hours” an instrumental album. With the moody lyrics layered beneath the instruments rather than front and center, “The Hours” is saved from being just another depressing emo lament and is allowed to explore other reasons for being.

This album is mood music, meant to be enjoyed for quiet and private meditation. Somewhere in Japan, Bill Murray, glass of whiskey in hand, is filming a commercial for All My Faith Lost... and seductively says to the camera, “for relaxing times, make it ‘The Hours’ time.” —Stewart Fuell

A review from Underground Press:
The second release from the Italian duo, All My Faith Lost, is the exquisitely beautiful ‘The Hours’. They cast a glorious emotional spell on the soul with warm, fragile and luxurious soundscapes, created by gentle piano notes, intricate string melodies and the bewitching vocals of Viola and Federico. The album embraces your skin with breathtaking melancholy and euphoric pain…an unforgettable dream! Released by Projekt in 2007. -Morticia Devine
